World Tourism Forum Lucerne 2011
IMI partners with World Tourism Forum Lucerne 2011

Professor Michael Hitchcock
, Academic Director of IMI, will be moderating one of the breakout sessions of the World Tourism Forum, Lucerne (13-15 April, 2011). The sessions are designed to show how the tourism industry tackles the challenge of sustainability and Professor Hitchcock's session is entitled: ‘CO2 - Do your best and compensate the rest'. The session will look at state of the art compensation programmes in aviation and what taxation on aviation fuel would mean for the industry. The speakers are: René Esterman (myclimate), Paul Steel (IATA) and Olivier Jankovec (ACI).

Also participating in the Forum will be Theodore Benetatos who will be accompanying students from IMI who will be acting as helpers. This will give the students the opportunity to not only see and hear world class speakers, but will also enable them to network with leaders in industry. IMI is the only Swiss hotel school to be involved in this capacity.
